Use Putty to Connect Automatically from Any Windows Computer to Your Servers Without Server Keys or Logging In with Your ID and Password

Hi, my name is Doug and you're watching VisiHow.com. Today I am going to show you how to connect to your server using Putty automatically so that you don't have to type your User ID and password every time. I realize right off the bat that you're going to tell me that there are server keys and we can use server keys to connect to the server without having to type our ID and password, and that's all true but it is not a very portable solution and you have to install the keys on every server and what not and I find the solution much easier. What I've done is I have installed OneDrive on my computer which is a cloud based drive, there are several and you could probably use other ones but I'm using this one and I'll show you how to use it as well. == Steps ==
# It comes with Documents and Pictures. I just created another folder called Putty. And I downloaded into that folder, the Putty executable from the Internet. What you need to do here is right-click on Putty and choose Create Shortcut. [[Image:Yassora_0704152100-canvas72_697759.jpg|630px]] 
# Then you're going to rename your shortcut. I usually like to name it the server, so that I can quickly see that it's the server. Then the Username, my Username is Doug. [[Image:Yassora_0704152101-canvas86_890906.jpg|630px]] 
# Now I will right-click again, and go into Properties. [[Image:Yassora_0704152100-canvas93_526436.jpg|630px]] 
# This time I need to put in my Username and server name. In this case, it's going to be Doug@visihow.com and my password. You can put -password and then put in your password. # If I click that now it would actually log in. Instead, I've already set up another user over here, so I'll demonstrate with that one. [[Image:Yassora_0704152101-canvas146_853058.jpg|630px]] 
# Now I'm all logged in. No muss, no fuss. The advantage of this is that any computer I go to, I can login to my OneDrive, and I can be accessing all of my servers without having to remember IDs or passwords, or start typing them in and all that stuff. # To pin it to the taskbar, you can just click and hold, and drag it down to your taskbar if you just want a certain server in your taskbar. If, however, you want the whole thing in there, there's another procedure to do that. [[Image:Yassora_0704152102-canvas201_678422.jpg|630px]]

# In Target, you have to put in C:\Windows\Explorer. That will launch the Explorer app. In Start In, C:\Windows. I don't know if you need that. Click OK. [[Image:Yassora_0704152103-canvas282_250134.jpg|630px]]
