Steps

Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the notification panel

Tap on the gear-shaped settings icon in the top-right corner

Tap on "Sound" on the left side of the screen

You will access sound options.

In "Sound", scroll the right-hand side down until you find "Feedback"
.
In "Feedback", the first option is "Touch sounds". This option plays sounds when options on the screen are tapped. Currently, "Touch sounds" is turned on.

Let's turn "Touch sounds" off by unchecking the box on the right

Now, go back to the home screen by pressing the home button

Then, tap on various applications

You will find that the device is not playing any sounds when you tap on the screen. If you want to have sound feedback, you need to get check "Touch sounds" again.

Let's go back to "Touch sounds" by following steps 1-5

Check the "Touch sounds" box

Now, let's go back to the home screen by pressing the home button

Tap on icons and buttons

Note that every time you are tapping an active item, the device will automatically produce a sound.
