Edited by Lukward Thomason, Alexander Avdeev, Eng
Hi! You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to show file extensions in Windows 10.
Let's go ahead and create a new text document on the desktop
As we can see, the file is just named "New Text Document". We cannot see the file extension.
To show the file extension, we need to right-click the lower-left corner of the screen
Then, we click "Control Panel"
When the "Control Panel" window opens, we need to click "Appearance and Personalization"
Now, we need to click "File Explorer Options"
We need to click the "View" tab
We are looking for "Hide extensions for known file types".
We need to simply uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types"
The "New Text Document" file will have ".txt". The "txt" is the extension for text files.
This concludes our tutorial on how to show file extensions in Windows 10. Thank you for watching VisiHow! If you have any other comments or questions, please leave them in the comment section below.
