There are different sizes of SIM card available in the market. Phone manufacturers uses different sizes too to suit their needs. This Howiki will guide you on how to move your SIM card from and to any of the following devices: Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, Note 2 and iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5.

The phones described above uses different kinds of SIM cards. Normally, you can move a SIM card from an iPhone 4 to an S3 but not to an iPhone 3GS. This may get you quite confused so we made this guide for you:

   Mini SIM Card - Mini SIM is the most common type of SIM in the market today

   From the three SIM cards that will be discussed here, this one is the biggest SIM. A big percentage of the cellular phone units available uses Mini SIM. In the guide above, you can see that iPhone 3GS uses it. Since it is the biggest SIM, it will not fit on all the other devices listed on top.

   Micro SIM - Micro SIM card was introduced when there was a need for smaller SIM cards to maximize space

   The terminals of the Micro SIM Card and the Mini SIM Card are just the same; only the terminal plastic bed has been reduced. From the three SIM cards that will be discussed here, this one is the middle size. Using the right adapter, you can move a Micro SIM card to a phone supporting a Mini SIM but not to a Nano SIM phone.

   Nano SIM - Nano SIM was conceived when the need for much smaller SIM cards were realized

   Since Micro SIM's small size is not enough, Nano SIM's plastic bed has been totally removed leaving the SIM terminal at a bare and the same time making the SIM card smaller. Since only the unused plastic bed has been completely removed, and the SIM terminal untouched, using the right adapters will allow one to use a Nano SIM card to phones that require a Mini SIM or Micro SIM.

SIM card adapters allow you to use a smaller SIM to a phone that requires a bigger SIM card. This is only a step-up process, you can use an adapter to a smaller SIM card and convert it to fit a bigger SIM card slot but not the other wayc around.
