You are watching VisiHow, today we are going to show you how to Manage Notifications on your iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To start of, give a quick press down on Home at the bottom
.
2
It's going to open up your phone and you are just going to slide to unlock
.
3
Once you slide to unlock, you are going to be looking for a silver gear shape icon in a box
.
That's right here, give it a quick press.
4
It can open up your Settings panel which will show you the Notifications section which is right here
.
5
6
And, you have a view to Sort Manually or Sort By Time
.
Sort Manually shows everything here in particular order.
7
Sort By Time is going to show you what is used the most
.
Since this relatively new phone, at the moment, there is no difference between Manual and Time Sorting.
8
What I am looking for here is anything that is particularly annoying
.
And one of things that is particularly annoying is Inbox. I like it but I do not like the fact that I get a little pop across my screen every single time I get a message.
9
I could set up so that I get an actual Alert that even give me a little message but then that would really drive me crazy
.
10
So what I am going to do is tap on None, I want to have nothing no nothing
.
11
I could tap on Banners or go back to what I have before by tapping on Alert
.
I want None. I absolutely do not want lots of them.
12
Now if I did have reminder set, I could still turn off bit some pieces of it
:
Show in Notification Center, Sounds, Badge App Icon, Show on Lock Screen. These are all other options that allow me to change and modify things.
13
Allow Notifications - let's just turn the whole thing Off without worrying about the smaller things
.
14
I can tap the Show in Notification Center
.
Now it let's me know: No Reason Items, 1 Reason Item, 5 Reason Items, 10 Reason Items.
15
So if I want to find out exactly everything that I have or at least 10 things that I have
.
I can have that set up or I can have None set up. Honestly, I am fine with Notifications. I like being able to swipe down sometimes and get a quick eye of what I need but I do not like sounds. Normally, I keep my phone in vibrate because the sounds are a bit annoying to me - constant interruptions of hundreds of emails a day.
16
Badge Application Icon - I am fine with that
.
Really, I have stop seeing them for a while. I look at it and it says I have three hundred messages. I know that those three hundred messages - I do not really need to see.
17
I do not have a problem with this notification showing up on Lock Screen. However some people don't like that especially if it is an SMS Notification that shows up on Lock Screen.
18
Let me show you a quick example of how that could be bad
.
Let's go back on Notifications.
19
20
You got reminder set or heaven help you if you have Alerts set.
21
Now let's say that you are on a date with a girl and you have message your friend that "Oh
!
She does not look very nice." Or let's say you are a girl you are on a date with a guy and you have message your friend and says "Oh! Looks like he has no a money." Both of those are bad things; they are not pleasant, they are not nice right ? After 10 or 20 minutes sitting down with your date, you might realize this is a really cool person and you are having a great time. You get up and or you are doing what ever or maybe you are sitting next to each other and the message pops on the screen with your friend saying, "Hi, you still sitting next to that troll?". Or rather your friend saying, "Hi,, you still in the poor house? Do you need me to rescue you?" And you just crash this wonderful person next to you because of your lack of awareness of Notification Settings on the iPhone 6. And the insensitivity that we humans tend to have for one another that can sometimes cause that to be a problem.
22
This is how you correct that
.
No badge app icon, no notification sound, and for heaven's sake do not show it on notification screen, that's terrible.
23
And now your SMS are safe
.
You are not going to have a problems from anyone. You are not going to scare anyone; you are not going to hurt any feelings; and probably do not know who message you until you open your message App. I do like to keep the badge app icon on just so I see, "Hi, I have got 3 messages, I wonder who are those from."
24
Press your Home button to take us back to the Home screen
.
