Hello and welcome to VisiHow.com. This is going to be a tutorial on how to make free texts and calls to US phone numbers using the Samsung Cricket. You will need an active WiFi or 3G connection to be able to make calls and download the application. We can only make calls to the US, international calls will not work.

First, we're going to take the Cricket and open the Play Store

We're going to tap on the search bar, type in "Talkatone" and press the search button in the bottom right-hand corner

It will be the first application that comes up

It will have a purple phone icon and be made by Talkatone, LLC. Tap on that.

Tap on "INSTALL"

Tap on "ACCEPT"

It will start to download and install it.

If we scroll down, we can read the description by tapping on "READ MORE"

It basically states that it gives us a US phone number and we can make free calls or texts in the US inside of the application. We will need an active internet connection to be able to use this application.

Once it's done installing, we can tap on "OPEN" or close the Play Store, go to the apps, and tap the Talkatone icon there to open it

Wait for that to open up. It may take a while after it's first installed.

It will show us the opening page where we will press "Sign up with Email"

Type in the first name, last name, age, gender, email, and password, then tap on "Create Account"

We will get a warning telling us that we can not make 911 calls with this application, tap on "OK"

Here we can see our Talkatone phone number and press "Continue"

We could choose a different number if we want.

Here we can find our friends, but we will just tap "Skip" in the top right-hand corner

If we do choose to find our friends, it will look through our contacts and automatically input anyone that we have in the contacts.

The application will want us to confirm our email address to use the app for more than 7 days
.
If we don't confirm the email address, then after 7 days, we won't be able to use it anymore. It is completely free and there are no limits if the email address is confirmed. Keep in mind that it is a VOIP phone, so it will not work if we're using it to verify something like a Google account.
