Install Adobe Flash Player and Stream flash Videos on Samsung Galaxy S4

Congratulations! You just got, as of writing, one of the most powerful phones in the world, the Samsung Galaxy S4. However, you may notice that the stock browser does not allow you to view flash. Even Chrome does not support flash viewing. Now you got no other choice but to watch flash streaming on your cranky old PC. No worries, we have just made life easier for you. Below are the steps of installing Flash and viewing flash videos on your Samsung Galaxy S4.

    Make sure that you have allowed installation from unknown sources on your Samsung Galaxy S4

    To do this you need to go to Settings, Tap on Security and tick on Enable Unknown sources.

    For some reasons (giving way to HTML 5), Adobe have pulled out the official Adobe Flash Player from Playstore but you can still download the latest APK file at helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

    Instal the APK file on your Samsung Galaxy S4.

    Download a third party browser that supports Flash

    The currently working browser is boat Browser. Download boat browser at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boatbrowser.free&hl=en

    Install Boat Browser on your phone

    After installation, open Boat Browser and go to Menu > Settings > Page Content Settings > Enable flash / plug-ins > Always On

Tips Tricks & Warnings

  • You may use SkyFire as an alternative to Boat Browser. Download the application at play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skyfire.consumer.browser&hl=en
  • Stock browser, Opera, Dolphin, Chrome do not work with this set-up.
  • Do not download Adobe flash from other sites, you may have the outdated version, worse, you may get some malwares.
  • Always go to helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html for the latest official version for your Samsung Galaxy S4.
