Edited by Thor, Rushell, Eng
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to get directions when using a Microsoft Lumia 535.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button on the right-hand side of the phone
.
2
Once activated, swipe the lock screen up to enter the Home screen
.
3
What we need to do now is open the Maps application
.
Mine is located on the Home screen. If yours is not, you'll need to swipe across from right to left to go to the Apps menu and find it, or it may be located in a different place on your Home screen.
4
First locate the Maps application, and then enter it
.
5
In this application, we have the possibility to get directions
.
To do that press the second icon at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a right turn arrow inside a diamond.
6
Now, we have Start and End
.
If the option to always know your location is already turned on, you can use My Location for the starting point. If you want to find out something in the future, or you want to know directions from a different location, you can enter that information next to Start.
7
We can select the End location and type in where we want to go using the keyboard
.
8
Now, I want my destination to be Freedom Square, so I will just type in that
.
I'll put in the name of the city as well.
9
I can swap the locations by pressing on the icon just to the right of the Start and End locations
.
The icon is two arrows inside a circle. This will show me directions from that place to my current location. I want to go from my location to this place, so I'm happy with the option as it is.
10
Now, press the right arrow located at the bottom right corner of the screen
.
It will begin calculating directions.
11
You can now see the directions
.
I am at point A.
12
Point B is where I want to go
.
13
I can choose different traveling options at the top right corner of the screen
.
There is the car, public transport, or walking.
14
If we press on the man walking, it should give me some slightly different directions
.
It says 58 minutes walking.
15
By car, it says 6 minutes
.
It's more or less the same kind of route.
16
There are some other things we can see as well
.
If we scroll up starting at where it says Leave my location, it's going to give me each different section for this journey. It will provide some information on exactly what to do, and it's going to give me the exact image on the map. You can continue to scroll to move through all of the sections. This is a really handy feature because it breaks down the entire journey into small manageable pieces to give you an idea of exactly what you need to do.
17
If you want to see all the steps at once, you can press route steps at the bottom of the screen
.
This brings up all of the route steps from the start of your journey to the end.
18
If you want to look at one particular step, you can just press it, and it will bring the map back and take you immediately to that step
.
19
As you can see, it's a very efficient and helpful application you can use to find directions and to navigate your way around the world
.
