Enable the Hotspot on a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

You're watching VisiHow. In the previous tutorial, we powered up the phone. This is a tutorial on how to turn on a mobile hotspot on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
Steps

In order to enable a WiFi hotspot on your Galaxy S6, swipe down from the top of the S6

This will open the notification panel.

In the notifications panel, tap on the gear-shaped "Settings" icon in the top-right corner of the screen

Tapping on the gear-shaped icon will open up the main "Settings" area.

Scroll down until you find the "Connections" area

You will scroll past "WiFi", "Bluetooth", and "Airplane mode" until you get to "Mobile hotspot and tethering".

Tap once on "Mobile hotspot and tethering"

You will see the option for "Bluetooth tethering", "USB tethering", and "Mobile Hotspot".

Tap once on "Mobile Hotspot"

The mobile hotspot is currently set to "Off". You can read below the image that you have the option to "use your device as an Internet access point using Mobile Hotspot". "Mobile hotspot" may also be called "wireless hotspot" or "WiFi hotspot". You can scroll through to read the specifics.

To turn the hotspot on, just press the switch near the top right of the window

After you press the switch, a pop-up menu will appear reading "Turning on Mobile Hotspot will turn off WiFi".

Tap "OK" at the bottom of the menu

After a moment, the hotspot will enable itself. Currently, there are no devices connected to the mobile hotspot for this tutorial. You can also see that the name of this mobile hotspot is "AndroidAP".

For this tutorial, let's use a Microsoft Lumia 535. You can use it to connect to the mobile hotspot.

Press the power button to unlock the Lumia 535

Tap on "WiFi" in the "Settings" menu

In the WiFi menu, tap on "AndroidAP"
.
It is listed as an available network.

You will be prompted to enter a password to connect to the mobile hotspot

You can find it on the Galaxy S6 in point 3 of your "Mobile Hotspot" menu. In this case, the password is "fudm3080".

Enter the password listed on the S6 into the "Password" text box of your other device

Then, tap on "done" at the bottom of the screen of the other device

Once the Lumia has been connected, you will see on the Galaxy S6 that "Windows Phone" is listed under "Connected devices".
