Disable TalkBack (Talk Back) mode in Samsung Galaxy Note II (Note 2)

Talkback mode is Android's Accessibility Service that makes it easier for persons with vision impairment to use and interact with their devices easier. This feature will give a "talk back" feedback for any action done through the phone so the user will be notified. It also enables the phone to vibrate whenever something is pressed on the screen as a way to signal the user that their touch has been recognized by the device. However, some people who have no problems with their visions may have issues once this gets enabled by accident. If one does not know how to turn off talkback mode in Samsung Galaxy Note 2, then the feature can be really annoying. To turn off and disable talk back mode in your device:

Disable Talkback Mode in Note2

The following procedures will disable talk back mode in Note II. Pictures have been provided to guide you. Just follow the instructions and you should be able to disable talkback in your device: Note: Before proceeding, it is important to know that in Talkback mode, you do every gesture on your phone's screen using two fingers. Thus when the instruction tells you to tap, it is actually asking you to tap using two fingers.

    After pressing Menu button, you will be shown with a few options

    Tap on the Settings option located on the lowest part of the list.

    You will now be taken to the Settings Menu

    Scroll down until you are on System Submenu. Under System, you can see some options, tap on Accessibility (icon with a hand).

    Under Accessibility options, check the Service Submenu and tap on Talkback to disable the feature
    .
    Make sure that Talkback mode is set to OFF.

Common Problems

  • Q: I already turned off Talkback mode but my phone speaks the messages when I open them.
  • A: Text to Speech feature of your phone has been enabled. Disable it by following the procedures below:

Disable Text to Speech (TTS) in Note 2
