Create and Manage Folders

Hi, you're watching VisiHow. Today we are going to show you how to add and remove folders on your Samsung Galaxy S5 Smartphone or your Android phone, depending on the version of the operating system that you are running.

Steps

To start with, go to your home screen then go to your Apps folder by tapping on the Apps icon

We're going to create our own folder, this is going to be done by simply selecting any one of these icons, holding it, and then dragging it up to Create Folder on the top left corner

Now we need to enter a Folder Name, I will call it Google

Add a folder to Home screen

Keep your applications organized by grouping them into your own preferred category. You can put all games on a folder called "Games" or put all Google application on a folder called "Google Apps." To create a folder on your Samsung Galaxy S5, follow these procedures:

Go to your Galaxy S5's Home screen by pressing the Home button located on the lower-middle part of your device.
- You can also press the Back key (lower-right soft key) for a few times until you will be taken to the Home screen.

Now that you already have a folder on your Home screen, you can populate it with applications. To add more applications into your folder, follow these procedures:

Move an application icon out of the folder

While it's easy to make new folders and add apps to them, reversing the process is indeed confusing. This is because most users think that deleting apps from the GS5 home screen will delete them from the phone. In fact, all of the Apps on your Home screen or in folders on your home screen are just shortcuts. That means you can delete any app shortcut, and then add it back later with no problems.

Now, to answer your question, in order to delete a folder without deleting the contents, follow these steps:

On your home screen, tap on the folder you want to delete to open it.
