Questions and Answers
How do I take apps out of folders and delete folders?
I had recently created folders and put some apps into them. I would like to reverse the process, would like to take the apps out of the folders and delete the folders? Help
While it's easy to make new folders and add apps to them, reversing the process is indeed confusing. This is because most users think that deleting apps from the GS5 home screen will delete them from the phone. In fact, all of the Apps on your Home screen or in folders on your home screen are just shortcuts. That means you can delete any app shortcut, and then add it back later with no problems.
Now, to answer your question, in order to delete a folder without deleting the contents, follow these steps:
- 1On your home screen, tap on the folder you want to delete to open it.
- 2Make sure you keep your finger held on the app shortcut. Now tap and hold on one of the application shortcuts you would like to move.
- 3While continuing to hold your finger on the app, drag it out of the folder, and onto the home screen.
- 4Then remove your finger to release the app in its new location on the home screen.
- 5Perform this process for all the apps you would like to move, or until the folder is empty.
- 6Now press the Home button.
- 7Once you're on the home screen, tap and hold on the folder that you want to delete.
- 8This icon looks like a trash can. This will open the edit page, where you can drag and then drop the folder on the 'Delete' icon.
- 9Your folder is now deleted.

How can I stop my phone from automatically saving pictures to albums that it creates?
For example, if I save a photo from twitter it will automatically save under a file name "twitter" despite the fact that I never created one in the first place. I'd like for my pictures saved from apps such as twitter and snapchat to save under my "camera" file and not ones created by the apps.
