Steps
1
To begin, open the emulator

I have the emulator saved to my desktop, but you may have it saved in another location. When the emulator is open, we need to choose a game.
2
To open a game, click "File" in the menu at the top of the window
.
3
Then, select "Open" in the drop down menu
.
4
For this tutorial, I will open "Pokemon" by double-clicking on it
.
5
There are a few ways to capture a screenshot
.
One way is to set the capture key to your keyboard or to the joystick. If you aren't sure how to do that, please view our other tutorial on how to do so.
6
Another way to capture a screenshot is to click on "File" in the menu at the top of the screen
.
7
In the drop-down menu, click "Screen capture"
.
A new window will appear on your screen.

For this tutorial, let's name this screenshot "test".
9
You can also change the file type, or format, by clicking the drop-down menu next to "Save as type"
.
"BMP Image" is currently selected.
10
You can also choose to save the file as "PNG Image"
.
11
When you have made your changes, click "Save"
.
12
After you have clicked "Save", you will see the file "test.png" will appear on your desktop or where the file will have been saved

Double-click this file to view the image.
