Connect the iPhone to the computer using the USB Lightning cable
Then, open up iTunes and click on the "iPhone" icon on the top of the screen
Once you do that, you can choose "Automatically Back Up" options.
You can click "iCloud" or "This computer"
For this tutorial, let's choose "This Computer".
Also, let's check "Encrypt iPhone backup"
What this does is it will encrypt the back-up file and allow you to store account password, Health, and HomeKit data.
Now, let's click "Back Up Now"
This will back up the iPhone. The status bar at the top will let you know once the back-up has been finished. Once completed, the phone will show "Latest Backup" and the time. For this tutorial, the phone shows "Today 4:09 PM to this computer".
