Edited by Freya, VisiHow, Eng, Visihow Admin
You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to apply a "Tileable Blur" effect to an image in GIMP in Windows 7.
It's on the top-left side of the window.
Then, move the cursor to "Blur"
Click "Tileable Blur..." in the menu
A small dialogue box will appear, so that you can begin specifying the settings for the blur.
First, you can change the "Radius" value
You can do it by dragging the scrollbar left or right or by typing the value into the box.
Next, you can check or uncheck "Blur Vertically" and "Blur Horizontally"
Then you can click the "Blur type" drop-down menu
You can click either "IIR" or "RLE". "IIR" is good for noncomputer-generated images, whereas "RLE" is better for computer-generated images.
When you are satisfied with your changes, simply click "OK"
This will apply them to the image. It may take a few minutes to apply the changes, depending on your computer.
This is a VisiHow tutorial, and we've just shown you how to apply a "Tileable Blur" filter to an image in GIMP in Windows 7. If you have any questions or comments regarding this tutorial or the program used, just add them to the section below. Thank you for choosing VisiHow!
