Edited by Freya, VisiHow, Eng, Visihow Admin
You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to use the "Deinterlace" effect on an image in GIMP in Windows 7.
It's in the horizontal menu along the top of the window.
Move the cursor to "Enhance" in the menu
In the expanded menu that appears, click "Deinterlace..."
A small dialogue box will appear with a preview of the image.
If you can't see the preview, make sure that the box next to the word "Preview" is checked
When it is checked, you will be able to see how your changes affect the image.
You can click and drag the preview to navigate it
Alternatively, you can click the scrollbars and arrows at the sides.
Finally, you can click either "Keep odd fields" or "Keep even fields"
Click "OK" or press "Enter" if you are satisfied with the changes
This will apply them to the layer. A green bar will run across the bottom of the screen letting you know that the effect will be applied. This can take some time that depends on the speed of the computer.
