Apply Whirl and Pinch Effects to Image in GIMP

You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we're going to show you how to create "Whirl and Pinch" effects in an image in GIMP in Windows 7.
Steps

First click "Filters" in the top left-hand corner of the window

Then, move the cursor to "Distorts"

Click "Whirl and Pinch..." from the menu that appears

A dialogue box will appear with a preview of your image.

If you cannot see the preview image, please ensure that the "Preview" box inside the dialogue window is checked

You can click and drag the preview to move it around

You can zoom in and out of the preview by clicking the magnifying glass icons

You can click the scrollbars and arrows to navigate the preview too

You can change the "Whirl Angle" value
.
You can do it by clicking and dragging the scroller or by typing the value that you want in the box on the right. The effect changes the direction of the whirl as you move the scroller to the opposite ends.

Next, you can change the "Pinch Amount" value

ou can do it by clicking and dragging the scroller or by typing the value that you want in the box on the right. The effects affects the center the most.

You can change the "Radius" value of the whirl in the same way

These effects are very good for abstract art or landscape photography.

You can click "Cancel" if you want to discard all of the changes

Alternatively, if you are satisfied with your settings, then click "OK"

This will apply them to your image. A green bar will appear at the bottom to show that the changes are being applied.
