Edited by Djinu, Alexander Avdeev, Eng
You're watching VisiHow! In this video, we are going to show how to add the word count to a document using Word 2016 on the Mac.
To add the word count, we click on a document
In this video, we have a template opened.
First, let's type in the words "Word Count" and then type a colon and space
We can name it whatever we want.
We click "Insert" from the top ribbon
Now, we click "Document Information" from the first panel
In the second panel, we are going to click "NumWords"
This basically stands for "number of words".
In this video, it will be shown that there are 580 words in the document.
Now, we can add in some additional words
Let's type "a few more words" in the document. We will notice that the number does not update automatically. It is easy to update it.
We right-click the number
We can click "Update Field" or press the shortcut, which is "Command", "Option", "Shift", and "You"
Once we click "Update Field", Word will show the count for the additional words that we typed.
That was how to add the word count into the document using Microsoft Word 2016 on the Mac. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the space below. Thank you for watching VisiHow!
