Edited by Thor, Rushell, Jen M
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to add languages to Google Voice Typing on an HTC One M8.
Steps
1
To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button located on top of the phone
.
2
Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the lock screen
.
3
To unlock the phone, press down on the screen and hold down until the two padlock icons appear at the bottom
.
Then swipe up.
4
Once the phone is unlocked, we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see several icons
.
We now need to find the Settings panel, and to do that, we need to swipe the notification panel down.
5
Press down at the top of the screen and hold, then swipe down to open the notification panel
.
Now, the notification has appeared.
6
We are looking for the icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen
.
It is a white cog, and this is our Settings icon.
7
Press down on the icon, and it will open up the "Settings" menu
.
It says the word "Settings" at the top left-hand corner of the screen.
8
Scroll down to the "PHONE" section
.
It should say the word "PHONE" in the gray bar.
9
Now, scroll down a bit more to get to the "Language & keyboard" option
.
Next to the words "Language & keyboard", there is a 3D square icon with a capital "A" inside.
10
Press down on "Language & keyboard", and it will open up the "Language & keyboard" menu
.
11
We are looking for "Google voice typing"
.
This relates to when we speak to the phone, and Google will type what we are saying.
12
Let's press down on that
.
13
We now want the first option at the top that says "Languages"
.
In this demonstration, it currently says, "Default primary: English (UK) Others: Espanol (Espana)". What we want to do in this video is show how languages can be added to the Google Voice typing function.
14
Press down on "Languages", and it will open a vast amount of languages
.
We can scroll up and down to find several different languages from around the world. Then we can add languages to Google Voice Typing.
15
To add a language, press down on any language
.
The box next to the language name will turn blue, and a white check will appear in the box.
16
To remove a language, press down on the language to be removed
.
The box will turn white again, and the checkmark will disappear. This means it has been deselected. Find the language or languages desired by tapping and putting a check into the box.
17
Then press "SAVE" in blue text at the bottom right-hand corner of the screen
.
18
Now, at the top where it says languages, where it says "Others", it says, "Espanol (Espana)", and now it says, "Dansk (Denmark)"
.
19
This concludes our tutorial on how to add languages to Google Voice Typing on an HTC One M8
.
