Add Fade In and Fade Out for Sound in After Effects

You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to demonstrate how to fade audio in and fade audio out using Adobe After Effects Creative Cloud 2015.
Steps
- 1To begin, click an audio clip file and drag it from the project window.
- 2Drag the audio clip into the timeline area.
- 3In the timeline, click the audio file arrow to expand the menu.
- 4Click the "Audio" arrow.
- 5Click the "Waveform" settings arrow.
- 6Next, move the playhead to 0 seconds by clicking and dragging it to the beginning of the clip.
- 7Then, click the "Time-Vary stop watch" icon in the timeline area to add a key frame.
- 8For this tutorial, click and drag left the "Audio Levels" slider to -48 dB so that there is no audio at this point.
- 9Click the 2-second mark to set the playhead to this point.
- 10This will add another key frame.Click the "Add or remove keyframe at current time" diamond icon at the left side of the timeline area.
- 11You will have a ramp up in the audio volume level.Then, adjust the "Audio Levels" slider to -15.00 dB in the same way.
- 12Set the playhead to 6 seconds.
- 13This will add another key frame.Click the "Add or remove keyframe at current time" diamond icon at the left side of the timeline area.
- 14Set the playhead to 8 seconds.
- 15This will add another key frame.Click the "Add or remove keyframe at current time" diamond icon at the left side of the timeline area.
- 16Let's set it to -48.00 dB.Adjust the "Audio Levels" slider back down for the outro.
- 17Set the playhead to 0 seconds.
- 18This will preview the audio file.In order to listen to what the audio sounds like, press "Ctrl" + "." on the keyboard.
