You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to demonstrate how to zoom in and out using ScreenFlow.
Steps
1
To begin, move the red playhead to the timeline area where you want to add an action
.
In the video clip, there is text that is entered in the input field; and we need to zoom in to this area where the text is typed.
2
An easy way to zoom in is to click the "+ Action" button
.
It's in the top-right corner of the window.
3
Click "OK" if you receive a pop-up box about adding an action
.
You can also check the box at the bottom if you do not want to see this message again.
4
Increase the "Scale" value by clicking and dragging the slider on the right-hand side
.
5
Then, center the zoomed area by clicking and dragging the preview
.
6
Move the playhead back to the initial spot and click the play button
.
You will preview the clip after you have added the action. After the text is typed in the video, you will need to zoom back out. There are a couple of ways to zoom out.
7
Before zooming out, you need to place the red playhead at the place where zooming out should occur
.
8
One way to zoom out is to add another action by clicking "+ Action"
.
9
10
Then, you need to set the "Scale" and "Position" values back to the previous ones
.
While that does work, you do need to be cognizant of the exact starting scale and position.
11
Place the playhead back to the starting position and click the play button
.
12
Let's delete the last action on the timeline by clicking and pressing "delete"
.
13
A faster and more effective way of zooming out is to place the playhead to the initial position for zooming out
.
14
Click "Actions" from the menu at the top of the screen
.
15
Move the cursor to "Add Snapback Action" in the menu
.
16
In the expanded menu that appears, click "Video"
.
You may see another pop-up box about adding an action.
17
Click "OK" if the pop-up window appears
.
The "Add Snapback Action" option cancels the previous action on the timeline. This is much quicker than adjusting the settings to make the video look like as it has been before. The "Add Snapback Action" option is a more efficient way of undoing an action.
