Do receding hairlines keep going with age or can they stop receding at a certain age?
Receding hairlines keep going with age, or can stop receding at the certain age, depending on its cause. For example, if your hair problem is caused by hereditary pattern baldness, you may experience hair thinning in your 20's or 30's and progress to complete and permanent hair loss on some parts of your head. If the cause of hair loss is due to stress, you may refer to the three types of hair loss due to severe stress stated above. Normally, hair loss due to stress is not permanent, and your hair will eventually resume its normal growth process. Another cause of hair receding is the improper use of hair styling cosmetics that can affect any ages. It's important for you to determine the cause of your hair loss to know whether it will be a permanent condition or not.
Everyone is different for it can stop for certain people or can continue to recede with a person's age. There really is no way to determine how a person's hair will recede without studying the person personally which doctors are capable of performing.
Does greasy hair contribute to a receding hairline in men?
Yes, greasy hair can contribute to a receding hairline in men. If your hair is too oily, it can attract more dirt, which can produce more dandruff, itchiness and irritation in the scalp. Dandruff, scales and plaque can block your follicles, making them inactive and resulting in hair loss. Malassezia is a fungus that resides on our scalp and feeds on oil and dead skin. If you have too much oil on your scalp, there is a big possibility that this fungus will grow significantly, suffocating your follicles and inhibiting the natural growth cycle of the hair.
Yes it does, greasy hair greatly contribute to the receding hairlines in men. Studies shows that genetic seborrhoea or the excessive production of natural oil in the scalp and in the hair caused by hereditary conditions reduces the lifespan of the hair and leads to alopecia or baldness. Greasy hair also promotes fungal growth and infections disrupting the natural growth of hair by interfering in the hair follicles and it also leads to seborrheic dermatitis which is an inflammation of the skin caused by excessive oil production in the scalp or in the skin leading to the thinning of hair. The excess oil in the hair increases the normal flora of the yeast Pityrosporon oval which causes irritation and inflammation on the scalp which greatly affect the hair follicles resulting to hair loss.
Can rubbing urine on scalp grow back receding hairline on forehead?
Rubbing urine on your scalp, hair or forehead will not help in any way. It can only infect wounds (if you have any at the said areas). What you can do is the following:
- know why your hair is receding.Reasons such as stress can play a big part.
- it can also be because of hair follicle starvation. This happens when excess amounts of DHT is being produced in your body. You will have to control the said hormone.
- A natural way to help it grow back is to use Saw Palmetto.
- Start living and eating healthy. When you do that, you will eventually get rid of DHT in your body.
- Use Minoxidil 5% to get your blood travel to the right sots on your scalp and feet and feed your follicles with the right nutrients.
You will need to act on it quickly as you cannot reverse it when it is too late . Unfortunately, when it is too late, the only way to save it is by hair transplant. This is not entirely wrong, however, some say that human urine has building up and curative features concerning many deficiencies. A mixture involving potato and sulphur dust, mixed with warmed up, old urine helps against baldness. One should rub this mixture in to the scalp; this decreases loss of locks.
Honestly, the use of human pee to promote hair growth is quite controversial to Western practices. Contrary to Western practices, pee therapy (urotherapy or urinotherapy) is a very popular practice in alternative medicine in India that dates back to the ancient yoga practitioners Kapalikas which they called the technique Amaroli Mudra. Scientifically, human pee contains a very diverse chemical compounds which scientists noted 3,000 chemicals are found in it. There is actually a scientific study that shows the urea, which is a chemical found in human pee that it efficiently promotes hair growth in animal test subjects especially in rats. Personally speaking, I suggest for you to use natural oils or commercial products that promotes hair growth instead, because they have a more concrete scientific evidences. In regards to the pee therapy, I am not dismissing the practice to be irrelevant in promoting hair growth because the human pee is composed of various chemicals that may promote hair growth or hair loss. Scientists may need to further research and prove the effectiveness of human pee in hair growth through scientific experiments in order to safely use it for hair growth purposes.

What could be the cause of sudden receding hairline in right temple area only?
Hair thinning or receding hairline particularly in the right temple area can be caused by a number of factors such as age, heredity, diet, and medications; to name some. In this case, if you notice that the receding hairline seems to be concentrated on the right temple region only then the following factors could possibly be the culprit:
- Hairstyle - Most men experience noticeable receding hairline on the side wherein he usually parts his hair. If this is the right side then that should explain it. If you are fond of certainly trendy hairstyles that pulls and twists the hair follicles for a prolonged period of time such as dreadlocks or cornrows then that could be causing the receding hairline.
- Trauma - Too much combing, pulling, toweling, or massaging specifically on the right temple area can cause excessive hair thinning or possibly shedding. The hair follicles could be severely damaged which takes roughly around 3 to 4 months to achieve complete recovery.
- Chemical Exposure - Too much dyeing, bleaching, hot oil treatments, or waxing can burn the hair strands and damage the hair follicles. If you get too much sunlight exposure, that could also cause brittle and falling hair.Regular shampooing is also known to cause voluminous shedding of hair. Also, frequent swimming and exposure to highly chlorinated water may also contribute to receding hairline on the right temple.
- Proximal Trichorrhexis Nodosa - This is a medical condition which is characterized by weakened hair follicles in the temple region which is known to be primarily caused by chemical or thermal exposure. This makes the hair on the right side of the temple shorter and brittle in contrast to the rest of the hairline.
- Stress - Whenever a person experiences stress, his immune defenses are derailed and hormonal imbalance occurs in the process. A lot of illnesses spring directly from stressful factors which can cause receding hairline in the right temple area or even permanent hair loss when left untreated.
- Steroid or use of other illegal substances - Substance abuse can definitely alter and damage not just your body organs but your entire system. In fact, one of the tell-tale signs of steroid abuse and illegal substance abuse is receding hairline that is particularly noticeable in the right temple region.
- Being right-handed - Basically, if you happen to be right-handed then most likely you would part your hair on the right side, scratch the right temple, and massage the right temple more often than the left side. It's plainly instinctive just as you feel more comfortable writing using the right hand (if you are right-handed) more than the left.
There can be a number of reasons for your hairline to be receding:
1. The pulling of you hair on the right side of you head through combing or brushing
2. Stress can be a cause
3. Anxiety can also be a cause for the receding hairline
4. Genetics
Those above are the main reasons for receding hairline

Can Telogen Effluvium cause a receding hairline?
Telogen is a phase when hair growth slows down or completely stops growing in a two to four month period before it goes back to producing new hair. This is mostly triggered by stress, hormonal imbalance or infections. During this phase, you may experience a receding hairline due to the noticeable thinning of your hair. Please note that this phase shouldn't last longer than a few months, or up to 6 months in a few cases. If the Telogen phase takes longer than that, it may instead be the natural receding of your hairline.
Yes, Telogen Effluvium causes receding hairlines. Telogen Effluvium is actually one of the major causes in hair loss based on various researches. Telogen Effluvium is a hair and scalp condition where hair falls greater than the normal hair fall out. The word Telogen means the resting phase of the hair follicles in the hair cycle. In this state, the hair follicles stop in their telogenic phase disrupting the normal hair cycle which leads to the thinning of hair and eventually makes the hair lines to recede and leads to hair loss. The primary causes of Telogen Effluvium are related to stress, diet and drugs. From the stated facts, Telogen Effluvium can cause receding hairlines.
Is there a cure for receding front hairline in males?
There are lots of drugs and state of the art treatments for hair loss, but there are no drugs that particularly target the front hairline. As far as the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) is concerned, they only have approved two drugs for hair loss, namely:
- Finasteride, Proscar/Propecia
- Minoxidil (Loniten)
Up to this point, the only truly effective medically proven way to address the hair loss process is to lower Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels. There are hair follicles that are sensitive to DHT. It affects the follicles by stopping them from producing hair, resulting in baldness. The temples and mid-anterior scalp are most sensitive to DHT.
Using Aloe Vera on the area affected may help in stimulating hair growth. Just apply Aloe Vera daily and leave it on for about 30 minutes. You may want to rinse it off or leave it on overnight.
Although this can help, it will require continuous use for a period of time. It will take months as compared to using more cosmetic solutions to hair loss.

Hi Daniel, recently I have been noticing that my left temple point doesn't seem as full and as robust as the right side, the right side looks perfectly normal. I'm not sure if it has always been this way and I never noticed, which is possible, but my father is bald so recently I have become more and more conscious of my hairline. I am not sure that I am going to go bald, but I suppose I was wondering if this is normal in someone who will not fall victim to MPB
