Tell by a Man's Body Language if He Likes You

Why he keep staring at me and when I see him he looks away? He is my crush please help me out?

So I'm in college and that guy is my classmate. I like him from the very first day of our college. Initially I never noticed anything but from past one month I'm noticing that he keeps staring on me and when I look at him he turns away. I like it that he's noticing me but I'm not sure whether he likes me or not. . . One day we were in lab and that day I spotted him looking at me when I was doing the experiment and it was for a really long time but when I look he again turned away. . I could have asked him directly but we are good friends and I don't want to ruin that. . Please tell me what can I do. I really like him. I want to know whether he feels the same or not. How to figure out that.
