Watch Netflix on TV Using a Computer

You can use your computer to stream Netflix directly from your TV. To do it, you need to make sure you have the right cables and adapters to be able to use your TV as a secondary monitory. Follow the procedures below in order to stream Netflix on TV using your computer.

Connect computer to TV

    Check the resolution inputs of your TV

    Your TV should have any of these video inputs supported:

    Check the outputs of your computer's video card

    Most computers have a digital visual interface (DVI) output that is compatible with the listed resolution inputs above. You may need to buy and adapter cable though since DVI is not the same standards as HDMI, SVGA or VGA. Depending on your video input, you may need to get any of these adapters.

    Get an adapter cable that will connect the output on your computer's video card to the input of your TV

    Turn off your TV and your computer

    Connect both devices using the appropriate cable.

    Extend your computer's screen to your TV by following these steps:
     
    1. Go to "Properties" by right-clicking on a blank location on your desktop.
    2. Go to "Settings"
    3. Choose the two secondary monitors option and put a check mark in the box beside "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor."
    4. You can adjust the resolution of monitor two (TV) to a higher resolution for better video quality.
    5. Click on "OK" to save and close settings.

    Switch your TV to input mode

Why appears a black screen in TV when I'm using Netflix app? I use a DVI-HDMI adapter?

Hi,. . I bought a DVI to HDMI adapter, because my laptop only has DVI output.. . I can see desktop in my TV, videos in YouTube...but when I try to watch a film in Netflix, appears a black screen in TV(for example, if I have subtitled activated, I only can see subtitles), while the film is running in my laptop.. . Do you know what can happens?. . Thank you very much!
