Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video we are going to show you how to wake up a HTC One M8 by double tapping the screen. You must have the Launch Gestures turned on in the settings menu, in order to use this function. They allow us to activate the phone simply by touching the screen. The default setting on the HTC One M8 is that these are turned on. If you turned them off for any reason, you will need to access them again, in order to use this function. Sometimes, it can be a little difficult to do this, as the screen doesn't always respond to our fingers. We need to be sure to press quite hard, while tapping on the screen. Let's double tap on the screen.

This is quite common. We may get different results depending on our fingers. It has allowed us to wake up the phone, just by double tapping on it. We don't need to press the power button. If we are doing something else, we can just double tap on the phone.

We can also send it back to sleep by double tapping on the screen

This works only on the lock screen.

Now, double tap to wake the screen

Then unlock the phone, by swiping up. Try double tapping here. It does not send the phone back to sleep.

Turn the phone off by pressing the power button

Double tap the screen to wake it. Double tapping again, on the lock screen, will turn the phone screen off.
