Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how you can view WiFi data usage on an HTC One M8.

To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the Power button, located on top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we'll see the Lock screen

To unlock the phone, press down on the screen, hold down until the lock/unlock icon is displayed, and then swipe up

Once the phone has been unlocked, we'll see the Home screen and at the bottom there will be some icons

What we need to do now is to find the Settings menu, and to do that, we need to swipe the Notification panel down.

To do that, press down at the top of the screen, hold down, and swipe down

Now that the Notification panel has appeared, we can see the icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen, which is a white cog icon

This is our Settings icon, and if we press down on it, it will open up our "Settings" menu

We can see that it says the word "Settings", in the top left-hand corner of the screen

Underneath this word, we can see that there are the words, "WIRELESS & NETWORKS" in the gray bar. This is the section we want to be in, and it is the first section.

We can see that it says, "Show WiFi" as the second option. Press down on this section.

Now, we can see the data usage for our WiFi, displayed in a table with the dates, "15 MAY", "29 MAY", "12 JUN"

We have the amount of data that is being used, and below that it says, "15 MAY - 12 JUN: about 2.69 GB used Measured by your phone. Your data usage accounting may differ".

It's very useful also to be able to see which apps are using the most WiFi data

The "Android OS" is using the most, "1.30 GB"
.
"Google Play Store" also uses quite a bit. It's very interesting because we haven't even really used "Google Play Store". We haven't downloaded any applications, but we can see that it's still using quite a lot of WiFi data. That means that if we have a certain limit, and we only have a certain amount of data that we can use, we may want to turn some of these applications off at some time if we're not using them. If we're not using Google Play Store, then we don't need it to be taking up so much room. This is very useful for us to see what exactly is using WiFi data.
