   To begin, unlock the phone by pressing the lock button on the right-hand side or the big round button at the bottom of the screen called the home button

   Unlock the phone by swiping right and entering the passcode

   Alternatively, press your finger on the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if you have that option enabled.

   Once on the home screen, find the Skype icon

   In this example, it is in the "Social" folder. The icon is light blue and white with a blue "S" in the center. Tap that once to open it up. It will either take you to the sign-up page or the recent contacts page with a list.

   Click the little profile picture in a circle to bring up a new menu

   There are several options here, one of them being "Skype Credit" which has a small "s" in a blue circle on the left-hand side

   It will also have your Skype credit balance on the right-hand side. Tap on that to open up the Skype Credit screen.

   Here it will tell you you available Skype credit and if you don't have any, you will have the opportunity to add more

   In this example, there is no Skype credit, but it can be added for 3.99 pounds. That will be paid for through the iTunes App Store. Click "add 3.99 credit" and it will be added.
