To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right-hand side of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, swipe the lock screen up to get to the home screen

Locate the Instagram tile
.
It has a navy blue background with an Instagram logo, or white outline of a camera, in the middle. If the Instagram tile has not been pinned to the home screen, swipe left across the screen to find it in the Apps menu.

Once it has been found, press on Instagram to open the application

In Instagram, swipe from right to left three times across the screen to get to the profile section

The icon on the far right at the top of the screen should be highlighted, indicating this is the profile page

Press the third icon above the photos
.
The icon looks a bit like a white circle inside of an upside down teardrop. Pressing on this will open the photo map.

There are currently only two photos on this map, but if there were more, they would be visible from here on different areas of the map
.
However, photos are only visible on the map of their locations have been added. To learn how to add the location to a photo, search for a tutorial on how to do this on this website.

Use your fingers to pinch and pull or double tap on the screen to zoom in closer and see exactly where the photos were taken

This is a way of viewing your own personal photo maps.

Press the left arrow at the bottom of the screen to go back

Now, swipe across the screen from left to right three times

To view another person's photo map, scroll down to choose a contact

Better yet, swipe back to the right two times and tap on "following" at the top of the messages and alerts screen

On this screen, the speech bubble with a heart inside is highlighted at the top right.

Tap on "following" at the top left of the screen

Find someone that you are following or that you know has this setting enabled. Images can be made private, and locations do not necessarily need to be added to photos. For people with private images or images without locations, their map will not be available.

Tap on a contact's photo to open their profile

Press the same icon as before, the reverse teardrop with a white circle inside

This will bring up this contact's photo map.
