   To begin, unlock the phone

   Either press the lock button on the side, or the home button at the bottom.

   Swipe from left to right across the screen

   Enter the passcode, or press a finger to the home button to use the fingerprint scanner

   Find the Gumtree application

   The icon is white with a tree on it. Tap once to open it up. We'll automatically be taken to our home page, which is indicated by a green house icon in the bottom left corner.

   Scroll to see the options on the home page

   At the bottom, there's an option to "Edit your stripes", which we illustrate in another video.

   Navigate to "Ads Nearby"

   .

   Adverts in this section will be relevant to our location. The adverts may have a theme. In our case, it's a lot of cars. This depends on what we've searched for previously. Scroll horizontally to browse this section, and tap on one of interest to open up the advert.

   Press "Home" in the top left corner to go back.

   Press the search bar at the top

   Underneath is our location. Ours is "London" at the moment.

   Here, we can change our location or change the distance from our location.

    Type a location into the field at the top of the screen

    Let's type "Edinburgh". As we type, a dropdown window will appear guessing the word we're typing. We can click that to select it or finish typing.

    Type in a new search query, and press "Search" in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Ours is looking for flats in Edinburgh.
