   To begin, unlock the phone

   Either press the lock button on the side, or the home button at the bottom.

   Swipe from left to right across the screen

   Enter the passcode, or press a finger to the home button to use the fingerprint scanner

   Find the Vine icon

   .

   It is a blue-green one with a white "v" on it. Tap once to open up the app. It will automatically take us to our home page, which is indicated by the bright white of the house icon in the bottom left-hand corner.

   Tap the icon in the top right-hand corner

   .

   It looks like a speech bubble with a smiley face. Tapping once will open up our messages. We haven't actually got any messages. We are in the "Friends" tab, which is where we would have messages from friends.

   Tap "Other" to see other messages

   .

   These are messages from people we're not friends with.

   Tap the bottom center button to compose a message
