   To begin, we need to unlock the phone by pressing the lock button on the side or the home button at the bottom

   Swipe to the right and enter the Passcode or just use the fingerprint scanner

   We need to find the Kik application which has a black speech bubble once we've reached the home screen

   Tap once to open up the app.

   Go to the settings cog in the top left-hand corner

   Then go to "Help & About Us," which is the second option from the bottom

   We need to go to the second option called "Update Kik." It has the version number on the side

   Tap on that to be taken to the App Store and we have the option to update if it is available.

   At the moment, this example is completely up to date as indicated by the OPEN option on the right side

   Otherwise it would say UPDATE.
