To start, unlock the phone by pressing the home button or the lock button on the right-hand side of the phone

Slide to the right to unlock the phone

Enter your passcode or press your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if you have that option enabled. This will take us to the home screen.

Open the TripAdvisor application by tapping on the icon

It is a green icon with an owl's face with big eyes. I have everything in folders to be more organized, so TripAdvisor is in the "Travel" folder. This automatically brings us to the main menu of the application and a list of everything that it includes.

We're going to focus on the 'Search bar' along the top

In the search bar it says, 'Cities, Hotels, Restaurants'. This tells us what we can search for. Tap on the search bar to start typing.

Type in what to search for

As soon as we start typing it brings up suggestions. We're going to search for 'Berlin'. The previous searches will also appear here. In this example, we have previously searched for 'Cafe Rouge'.

The result below it, 'NH Berlin Mitte' is a hotel because it has an icon of a bed. The binocular icon means that it is a tour. We're going to tap on the city, 'Berlin'.
