Use the Clock on the Samsung Galaxy S5
Edited by Grimm, Jen M, Eng
Hi, you are watching VisiHow. Today we are going to show you how to use the clock function on your Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. There are four main features of the clock function.
Steps
1
To get started, we are going to press the power button, draw your pattern or unlock, swipe, pin, whatever it may be that you have
.
2
Tap the Apps button, and look for your clock
.
It looks like a clock icon. Tap it once.
3
Now you're going to see that you have four main options here
.
The first one is Alarm. Because the Alarm is complex, we have a separate tutorial for it.
4
Use the World Clock option to set your World Clock
.
5
Use Stopwatch button for Stopwatch features
.
6
Use the Timer button for Timer features
.
Let's get this setup.
7
At the moment I have Tbilisi, Georgia set up as a World Clock. For other options, I can press the plus button. All of these options are going to pop up here.
8
However, I can put in a particular option, for example, a place I sometimes travel to, Yerevan Armenia
.
9
Tap plus again, let's put in Washington DC
.
10
Let's add another one, Hong Kong, I also visit Hong Kong on and off although I don't really speak Cantonese
.
11
Now we have a number of places, but since Yerevan and Tbilisi are the same time zone, I can tap the dots in the top right and I can select delete
.
12
Now it's going to ask me which one I want to delete
.
Select the one you would like to delete, then tap "Done".
13
It is now deleted, now I have three separate time zones set up in my phone, which allow me to quickly and easily see the time for any of those places
.
14
If I want to undo my delete I just tap undo, and it's automatically undone
.
Since I didn't want to actually undo it, I will delete it again.
15
The other options I have are to select them or change the order, should I choose to do that
.
16
I don't have a need to do that, but if you want to, you can change the order, you just take them and swipe them up or down, make sure you hold the checkered box as you're doing this
.
17
Now they are all reordered
.
Click "Done".
18
If you prefer you can swipe through these options
.
There's no problem with that.
19
Now we will use Stopwatch
.
The stopwatch is very simple. Tap start, and if you're timing yourself running then tap "Lap". That's your first lap, a lap around the living room for example. A very speedy 5 seconds. Press lap again, 7 seconds this time because we tripped over a toy, then stop.
20
You can restart it if you want or reset it
.
These are our 02 and 01 laps, giving us our times, which one is the best, which is not.
21
You can share them if you would like to or you can adjust the settings by pressing on the 3 dots
.
22
If you want to keep the screen dimmed you can
.
Personally, I don't like to dim the screen, I like to turn it off because I run more than 5 seconds. But if you're doing something relatively quick and you don't want to actually turn the screen off, that's fine. You can do that with your stopwatch.
23
Let's go back to settings and you can also share
.
You can choose how you want to share that. "Hi, everyone look how fast I ran". You can share it through Email, Facebook, Messenger, there are number of applications to choose from. Depending on what you're doing or how you're doing it, you may have a school function or university function where it's important for you to share these times with other people.
24
25
Here we have the timer, timer essentially is the same thing, you can select minutes, seconds, and hours
.
The blue numbers mean it is currently selected.
26
I will set a timer for one hour, one minute and 30 seconds
.
You can then start the timer and go.
27
If you want, you can start with 1 hour, and you can tap next to get to the minutes and then next to get to the seconds
.
28
Tap start, now your timer is going to start
.
Every second is going to count down until you reach the finishing point. You can choose to Stop or Reset it.
29
You also have the settings option here by tapping the 3 dots
.
Here you can change the volume of the Alarm and you can change the actual tone that goes with the alarm. If you're boiling eggs or you're doing something that requires an alarm this is a handy feature.
30
When you're finished you can reset or you can restart
.
31
Let's go back to the beginning, as mentioned earlier, Alarm is waiting to set your Alarm which is described in another tutorial
.
Thank you very much for using VisiHow, have a great day! Let us know if any questions or comments in the help section below.
