Samsung Galaxy Note3's Calendar application helps you stay on top of things. As the Note3's version of Galaxy S4's Planner, this application will allow you to organize your schedule and manage events, meetings, occasions and appointments. With Note3's Calendar, you won't have to worry about missing an important meeting, or won't have to face the awkwardness of forgetting your friend's birthday. You can also sync the events from different accounts on your device so you will be able to view all of your upcoming events on the application. If you want to maximize the benefits of the Calendar application, read the entire article. You can also share this article with a friend who may find this feature useful.
Add an Event to the Calendar on Samsung Galaxy Note3
An upcoming event is something you want to be notified of, and to have easy access to. There are things you just don't want to miss. You want your life to be organized, and this is where Note3's Calendar kicks in. We will start by creating a new event. Follow the procedures below to add a new event to the Calendar on your Samsung Galaxy Note3:

- 5You can add information to your event or task to make them more detailed. Keep your events detailed by supplying the appropriate details on the right tabs. The following details are available to be filled in:Add details to your event or task.
- Title - Tap on the field to enter a title to your event. If possible try to make the title short but detailed enough to have a full view of the title at a single glance. (i.e. use "Eddy's 30th Birthday" instead of "30th Birthday Celebration of Eddie Peregrina").
- Color of event - Tap on the colored square beside the title to change the color of the event. Colors of events help you categorize events by color-coding them. Depending on your preference, you may put work-related events in Red, home-related events in Yellow, and any event with your special someone in Green. You might also color-code them by importance. The important thing is, just by looking at the color of the event, you will know what type of event is coming up.
- All Day check box - putting a check mark in this box will set the event to occur the whole day. If the event is only a one-hour event or so, then make sure that you uncheck this box.
- From/To - These fields allow you to set the event to more than a day. Tap on the "From" field and enter the start date of the event, then tap on the "To" field and enter the end date of the event.
- Time - This field is inaccessible when the "All day" option has been checked. This field will allow you to add start time and end time of the event.
- Calendar - This field will allow you to choose to what account would you like to have the event or task saved. You can choose from the following:
- My Calendar - allows you to save the event or task on the phone's internal memory. The saved event or task will not show on any online account that you have.
- Samsung Calendar - This allows you to save the event or task to your phone and to your Samsung account. This will allow you to have access and view the event or task using other devices through your Samsung account.
- Google/Gmail - allows you to save the event or task to your phone and to your Google account. This will allow you to have access and to view the event or task using other devices through your Google account.
- Corporate - This allows you to save the event or task to your phone and to your Microsoft Exchange account. This will allow you to have access and to view the event or task using other devices through your Microsoft Exchange account.
- Sticker - This will allow to add an icon that will appear next to your event that represent the type of event you have planned.
- Repeat - This allows you to choose the recurrence option of the event. You can choose from the following Repeat options:
- One-Time Event - The event will not be repeated, it is a one-time event that is not expected to happen again, or an event that may happen again but you have no definite schedule yet. An example of a one-time event is when you are meeting up a friend from abroad.
- Daily - The event will recur daily on the dates that you choose. An example of a daily event is if you are attending a 5-day seminar.
- Weekly - The event will recur weekly on the dates that you choose. An example of a weekly event is the Sunday gym workout schedule that you have planned for the next three months, or a dance class every Tuesday at 8pm.
- Every 2 Weeks - The event will recur bi-weekly on the dates that you choose. An example of an event that is held every two weeks is the prayer meeting that is scheduled every other Friday.
- Monthly - The event will recur monthly on the dates that you choose. An example of a monthly event is when you are scheduled to go to your doctor every 5th of the month for the next two years for your monthly throat checkup.
- Yearly - The event will recur yearly on the date that you choose. An example of a yearly event are anniversaries and birthdays, as these events happen once a year and on the same dates.
- Reminder - Your phone will let you know of the upcoming event. You can choose to be notified a certain amount of time before the event or receive an email notification.
- Location - This allows you to enter the venue of the event. You can also search for the location using Google Map.
- Description - This allows you to enter a description of the event.
- Participants - This allows you to enter people who will attend the even too. You can choose from the people in your Contacts.
- Show Me As - This allows you to choose your status when you share your calendar to others. You can choose between being Busy or Available.
- Privacy - This allows you to change the privacy settings of the event. You can choose to share it with others and make it Public or make it a Private event so only you can see it.

Erase Events on the Calendar on Samsung Galaxy Note3

- Note - if you are deleting a recurring event, you have the option to delete only the selected event by choosing Only This Event, or deleting all the recurring events by choosing All Repetitive Events.
- Some events cannot be deleted. If an event was only synced to your device and originated from a different application, then you cannot delete the event. You can only delete an event from the application where it originated.

- Go To - allows you to go to a chosen date on the calendar.

- Sync - allows you to sync your calendar events to your chosen online account. This option requires internet connection.
- Calendars - allows you to view tasks and events from the calendars on your accounts.
- Settings - allows you to view additional settings depending on the type of calendar view.
- View Styles - allows you to choose the default viewing style for the Month and Week views.
- First Day of the Week - allows you to choose the first day of the week on your calendar. By default, the first day of the week is Sunday.
- Hide Declined Events - allows you to hide events and task that you declined.
- Lock Time Zone - allows you to lock your time zone so that it will remain the same even if you move to a location with a different time zone.
- Show Week Number allows you to display the week numbers on your calendar when viewing in Week and Month views.
- Hide Completed Tasks - allows you to hide the completed tasks. To hide a completed task put a check mark on the tick box beside it.
- Weather - allows you to display the weather forecast for seven days. Put a check mark on the box to display weather.
- Set Alerts and Notifications - allows you to choose the type of notification that you will receive when an event or task in upcoming. The following options are available: Alert, Status Bar Notifications, and Off.
- Select Ringtone - allows you to choose a ringtone for your notifications and alerts.
- Vibration - allows you to enable haptic (vibrating) feedback.
- Quick Responses - allows you to create a template with quick responses for email purposes.

How do I delete a repeating event without deleting all future events?
How do I delete a repeating event without deleting all future events. When I try deleting the only option is all repetitive events. The phone is a new Samsung Galaxy Note3.
That's your only option. If you want to delete the repeating event, it will delete all the repeating events in the future. If you do not want that to happen, then you can simply leave the event alone until it passes allowing the other events to stay in tact.

Is it possible to change the colours of the bar without using an external app?
The default calendar app has the ability to add "stickers" to it while you edit it out which also has the some colors but not all. However, if you wish to have all the colors, you would still have to download the updated Google Calendar app.

If US holidays seem to have disappeared from your calendars or fail to sync properly then here is what you have to do:
- Go to "Settings".
- Click on the running "Apps".
- Select "All".
- Hit "Clear Data" option in the Calendar Storage.
- Re-sync Google Calendars.
That's basically what you have to do to recover US holidays and other missing ones on your calendars.
