   In order to unlock the phone with our fingerprint, we need to have our phone unlocked

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we swipe down from the top of the phone

   This will open the notifications panel. On the upper-right side, we will note a white gear-shaped icon.

   Once we've tapped the icon, we need to find and tap the "Lock screen and security" option in "Quick settings"

   Under the "Screen lock type", the second-to-last option is "Fingerprints".

   This will allow us to enable the fingerprint lock.

   We need to enter our back-up password or use our fingerprint to set up the lock

    Once we've set our lock, we need to tap one of the following

    :

    • "Show content", where all of the content will be shown on the lock screen, including incoming email messages, SMS messages, notification, and so on;
    • "Hide content", where email messages or contents of SMS messages will not be shown; but notifications that we will have received will be shown;
    • "Do not show notifications", where no content will be visible on the lock screen.

    When we are satisfied, we can tap on the back button

    Pressing the lock button again will give us a pop-up message that we can use a back-up password or a fingerprint to unlock the phone. Swiping will not work.
