Hello, and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we are going to show you how to scan a QR code with Viber on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button on the top of the phone

   .

   Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.

   Swipe upwards to unlock the phone

   Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen. At the bottom, we will see a row of icons. It is one of these icons that we now need to access, as we need to open up the Applications folder.

   Tap the icon shaped like a grid of white dots

   It is at the bottom of the home screen, in the middle of the row of icons. Pressing down on the icon allows us to enter the Applications folder.

   Find the Viber application

   The icon is a purple speech bubble with a white telephone inside. Underneath, it says "Viber". The Viber application can be in any position in this folder. Press down on the icon, once located, to enter the application.

   Find the icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen

   It is in the gray bar, and it is shaped like three small horizontal lines. Press down on this icon, and it will open up a page marked "More".

   It is a dark purple button. This will show us the QR scanner, which uses the phone's camera. Make sure that the app has permission to use the camera. It says, "Place the code in the center of the square and it will be scanned automatically."

   Place the QR code in front of the phone and line up the code in the square on the screen

   Automatically, and very quickly, the app finds the link provided by the QR code and displays it. In this demonstration, our link goes to The Guardian home page.

    This will allow us to open up the address. In our demonstration, it asks if we would like to "Open with Chrome", and we can tap "JUST ONCE" or "ALWAYS". We can also select to "Use a different app".

    Tap "JUST ONCE" or "ALWAYS", or select an alternate browsing app, if prompted

    We will tap "JUST ONCE". If we had tapped "ALWAYS", we would never see this confirmation again, and tapping "OK" would take us directly to the link.

    It has taken us to the location linked by the QR code. We can see that it is very easy to use the QR scanner in Viber. Just select it, then hold it over a QR code, and then we can access the information in that QR code.
