Use Storage Sense on Microsoft Lumia 535
Edited by Thor, Rushell, Dougie
Hello and welcome to VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show you how to use the storage sense function on a Microsoft Lumia 535.
Steps
1
To begin, we're first going to turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the right side of the phone
.
2
Now to activate it, we're going to swipe up to enter the main Home screen
.
3
Then we're going to swipe down to the notifications panel
.
4
And now you can see we have All Settings on the right-hand side of the screen
.
This is the easy way to access the settings. Press that to quickly enter the settings.
5
Now, we're going to scroll down to storage sense
.
Press that.
6
Now, we are in storage sense
.
This gives us an idea and gives us knowledge about what is stored on our phone and on the SD card. You can see under the word phone the number of gigabytes used and just to the right of that, how many gigabytes are free.
7
We can note the amount of space used on the SD card as well just below the phone information
.
8
By scrolling down we can see the option to "Change where you store your music, photos, apps, and more."
9
So if we want to store mainly apps on the phone and store things such as music or photos, we can store them on the SD card because there's more room
.
10
To change that, click on by tapping the second rectangle where it says phone
.
A light blue highlighted window will appear with the option to select SD card. Press on that to select the SD card if desired. We can do another video on that to explain that another time.
11
We can store new apps on your phone or SD card
.
12
We can also store new downloads on phone or SD card
.
13
So if you're running out of room on your phone, you're going to want to store things on the SD card
.
14
If we click on phone, then we can see what is taking up all the room
.
It will say how many gigabytes are being taken up by each type of media beneath it, including apps and games, music, videos, podcast, photos, and emails/messages, to name a few. So you can see what's taking up the most room. Then you know if you need to delete something.
15
We can click on the arrow at the bottom left of the screen to go back
.
16
Back at the storage sense screen, we can tap on SD card to look at that
.
This will have similar information to the phone storage information screen, telling you how much and what types of media are stored on the SD card.
17
If you scroll down you will see that there's also the option to remove the SD card and to format the SD card
.
18
So this is how you can access the storage sense function
.
This concludes our tutorial on how to access and adjust the settings. If you have any questions or suggestions then you can leave them in the comment section below. You've been watching VisiHow. Goodbye
