You're watching VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to enable the split-screen mode on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.
Steps
1
In order to enable the split-screen mode, we need to have our phone unlocked
.
We should be on the home screen. Once the phone has been unlocked, we will need to open some applications.
2
3
We tap the back button to go back to the home screen
.
4
5
We tap on the back button once more
.
6
7
Once more, we tap the back button
.
8
Now, all we need to do is tap the menu button
.
It's on the lower-left side. We'll note that "Phone" has an "X" on the far-right side, which closes the Phone application. "Contacts" also has an "X". However, "Messages" has the icon with two boxes that indicates that this option will give us the split-screen mode. That is for what the two rectangles are.
9
Let's tap the rectangles next to "Messages"
.
Now that we've tapped them, we'll see that the Messages applications will be opened.
10
In the lower part of the screen, we can scroll over and open another application
.
All of the other applications that are on the phone and that support the split-screen mode will be listed below. We can note that not every application on our phone will support the split-screen mode.
11
We swipe left to the main screen
.
We'll see "No recently used apps." This indicates that in this video, no other applications that support the split-screen mode have been used. As we have seen earlier, the Phone and Contacts applications do not support the split-screen mode.
12
13
We'll have a screen with two Windows split up.
14
We tap on a picture in Gallery
.
It will be shown at the bottom.
15
We tap on a message in Messages
.
It will be shown on the top.
16
We tap on the middle circle to modify or close one of the Windows
.
17
We tap on the "X" to close the Messages window
.
Messages will be closed, and Gallery will be shown.
18
We press the home button
.
We'll be taken back to the home screen.
19
We will be given the option to open some applications in the split-screen mode.
20
We tap the rectangle icon next to "Messages"
.
21
Gallery will also be opened.
22
When we have finished, we can press the home button
.
We'll go back to the home screen.
23
We can choose to open something normally
.
For example, we can tap on Messages. The application will be opened in the full-screen mode. The only time we can enable the split-screen function is when we tap the menu button. Then, we can choose to open applications with the split-screen option.
24
25
Then, we can press the home button
.
This concludes our tutorial on how to use the split-screen mode on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Thanks for watching VisiHow! Give us your questions, comments, or suggestions in the area below. Have a great day!
