Use Split Screen Mode in Mac OS X El Capitan

In this tutorial, we're going to demonstrate how to enable the split-screen mode in the Mac OS X El Capitan operating system. This can be useful if you want to code on one side of the screen and see changes to the page on the other side or if you wanted to look at a VisiHow article and see the text on one side while watching the video on the right side.     Let's navigate to a VisiHow article in Google Chrome

    You can open any article from https://visihow.com.

    Now, right-click the tab at the top

    Then, click "Duplicate"

    This is going to make a copy in a new tab.

    Now, click and drag the tab downward to make a new window

    It's important that you long-click the green button; otherwise, the screen will be maximized, which is not what you intend to do.

    Long-click the button now

    It is going to give you the option of placing the window on the left side or on the right side.

    You can also change the size of the split

    You can do it by clicking and dragging the middle to the left or right.

    When you've finished with this mode, click the green icon on the left of the window

    This will minimize it. The other item will be still in the full-screen mode.

    Swipe to the right with three fingers on the trackpad

    Click the green icon to the top-left of this window again. You will be back to where you will have started. The Windows are on the same desktop.
