Use Opera Touch on Android

Opera Touch is the latest mobile browser to come from the developers of Opera. It's designed to be able to use one hand with ease and fluidity. A lot of smartphone users like to use a single hand when they perform tasks on their device. Browsing the internet with Chrome, for instance, can become difficult if you limit yourself to one hand only. With Opera Touch, users can browse with speed and precision, while on the go.
In addition to its quick functionality, Opera Touch also pairs nicely with Opera's desktop/laptop browser. With a feature called My Flow, you can continue browsing from either your mobile device or PC without missing a beat. Perfect for when you want to carry on browsing when you leave the house, or when you want to continue browsing when you return to base.
In the following VisiHow tutorial, we're going to show how to; install Opera Touch on an Android device, browse the internet, and connect to a PC (My Flow). For this article, we used a Google Pixel, running Android 8.1.0.
Install Opera Touch for Android
- 1On the home screen, swipe up to access your app tray.
- 2From inside the app tray, tap the "Play Store" shortcut.
- 3Once the Play Store app is open, type; "opera touch" (without the quotes) into the search box.
- 4When the search results return, tap the first link (Opera Touch).
- 5On the Opera Touch info page, tap the "INSTALL" button.
- 6Once the app is installed, tap "OPEN", and continue to the next section of this guide.
Search and Browse with Opera Touch
- 1With Opera Touch installed and open, swipe through the welcome screens by tapping "NEXT".
- 2For this tutorial, we selected "Remind me tomorrow", as we cover connecting to the desktop browser in the next section.When opening Opera Touch for the first time you'll see a message that says; "My Flow is not connected".
- 3Tap anywhere inside the box to bring up the keyboard, scanning, and voice search options.At the top of the Opera Touch home screen, you'll see a Google search box.
- 4When the permission box pops-up, tap "ALLOW" so the app can access your device's camera.To quickly access a website by scanning its QR code, tap the scan icon on the left side of the screen.
- 5When the permission dialog pops-up, tap "ALLOW" so the app can record audio.To search by voice, tap the microphone icon on the right side of the screen.
- 6To add a webpage to "My Flow", tap the arrow icon to the right of the URL field.You can, of course, perform a search the traditional way, by typing either a URL or keywords into Google's search box.
- 7To manage your open tabs, tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper right corner, followed by "Tabs".
- 8Once in tab view, you can scroll through to access a different tab, or, swipe from horizontally to close them.
Connect Opera Touch with the Desktop Browser
The My Flow feature allows users to add links from either the desktop or mobile browser, to continue seamlessly browsing from platform-to-platform. To use the My Flow option, you must have Opera's computer browser installed.
- 1Open Opera on your computer and tap the "My Flow" icon in the left menu pane.

- 1With Opera Touch open, tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper right corner of the browser, then tap "Settings".
- 2Tap this, then select either "Open in background" or "Open in foreground".The first option under general settings is "Tabs".
- 3The following three toggle switches enable/disable; Ad blocking, Cryptocurrency mining protection, and Haptic feedback.
- 4Tap this, then place a checkmark next to the data you want to be removed, then tap "CLEAR DATA".The last setting is "Clear browsing data".
