Use Nfc on Samsung Galaxy S4

One of the many features of the Samsung S4 is the NFC, or Near Field Communication. This kind of feature or technology allows the phone to send out few information bits within near proximity.
Unlike with a Bluetooth transfer, one can send information without the usual pairing process.
If you are not aware not such technology exists in your phone, then here are some of the ways you can start using it.
Turning on NFC on Your Phone
- 1On your screen, tap the "Apps" tab.
- 2Go to the "Settings" tab.
- 3Look for the NFC option and swipe to turn on the feature.
- 4Do the same procedures when you want to turn it off.
Using NFC on Your Phone
NFC works well with applications such as S Beam and Android Beam.
How to Activate Android Beam on Your Phone
- 1From your home screen, tap "Apps".
- 2Go to "Settings".
- 3Look for the "Connections" tab.
- 4Look for "NFC".
- 5Tap "ON" on the "Android Beam" tab.
- 6The same procedure goes when you want it turned off.
Now your phone is ready to beam several browser pages, like your contacts or videos on YouTube.
S Beam application is also a very cool technology. When your S Beam is running, file transfer with another NFC-capable phone is possible just by holding them close together. You may go ahead and beam music, videos, photos from your files or Gallery.

- 1Tap "Apps" from your home screen.
- 2Go to "Settings".
- 3Tap the "Connections" tab.
- 4Tap the "S Beam" option.
- 5When transferring, just touch your device's back to another device capable of NFC transfer and transfer occurs.

Use NFC to share content to other phones using Galaxy S4
Once you have turned on the NFC feature on your device, you can now transfer files, contacts, music, photos and images, videos, applications and websites using this very useful technology. Send Contacts Using NFC
- 1Wherever you are on your phone, go to your Home Screen by tapping on the Home button once.
Send Pictures and Video Using NFC
- 1Wherever you are on your phone, go to your Home Screen by tapping on the Home button once.
- 2From the Home screen, tap on the Apps icon located on the right-most part of the Favorites bar.
- 3From the Application list, look for Gallery and tap on it to open.
- 4From the Gallery, look for the album containing the picture or the movie that you want to send.
- 5Tap on the picture or the movie that you want to send through NFC.
- 6Touch the back portion of both phones together to establish an NFC connection.
- 7When connection has been established, "Touch to beam" option will show.
- 8Tap anywhere on the screen to send the selected picture or video.
Send Audio and Music File Using NFC
- 1Wherever you are on your phone, go to your Home Screen by tapping on the Home button once.
- 2From the Home screen, tap on the Apps icon located on the right-most part of the Favorites bar.
- 3From the Application list, look for the Music Player app and tap on it to open.
- 4Look for the music file that you want to send and tap on it.
- 5Bring both of your phones back to back to signal devices to start an NFC connection.
- 6You will know that the NFC connection is successful upon seeing the message "Touch to beam".
- 7Tap anywhere on the screen to send the selected audio file.
Send websites using NFC
Aside from making sure that both devices have turned on NFC, the receiving device should also have an internet connection or it may not be able to view the webpage.
- 1Wherever you are on your phone, go to your Home Screen by tapping on the Home button once.
- 2From the Home screen, tap on the Apps icon located on the right-most part of the Favorites bar.
- 3From the Application list, look for the Internet application and tap on it.
- 4Go to the site that you want to beam over NFC.
- 5Once you are on the site, put the phones back to back, with both device touching, and wait for a message that says "Touch to beam".
- 6Touch anywhere on the screen to send the selected website.
Send other files using NFC
- 1Wherever you are on your phone, go to your Home Screen by tapping on the Home button once.
- 2From the Home screen, tap on the Apps icon located on the right-most part of the Favorites bar.
- 3From the Application list, look for "My Files".
- 4Choose the storage location and the folder where the file that you want to share is saved.
- 5Tap on the application to open it, then bring both devices back to back making sure that they touch.
- 6This means that NFC connection has been set up.Wait for a message that says "Touch to beam".
- 7Touch anywhere on the screen to send the selected file.
- Take note: NFC sharing will only continue if you are able to open the file.
