Yes, there are still some traces for different applications, including the one from the article. For example, for mSpy, SuperSU, the super user folder, is not hidden; and the application lists itself in SuperSU as an application with super user rights, though with a different name. There can be trace (APK files) that are not deleted. Some other spy applications even leave the document with the traces to whom the spy data is being sent.
