Steps

To begin, we turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on the top of the phone

Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.

To unlock the phone, we swipe the screen upwards

Once the phone has been unlocked, we will see the home screen. There will be icons at the bottom. It is one of the icons that we need to access now, as we need to open up the applications folder.

To open up the applications folder, we need to tap the icon located at the bottom of the home screen

The icon is in the middle and has a grid made of white dots. Tapping the icon will open up the applications folder.

In the applications folder, we need to find the WhatsApp icon
.
The icon is a green speech bubble with a white telephone inside. Underneath the icon, there is "WhatsApp". The WhatsApp application location may vary in the application folder; therefore, we need to find it.

Once we have found it, we tap it to enter the application

We now need to tap the icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen

The icon has three small white dots in a vertical line. Tapping the icon will open up a menu.

We need to tap the option at the bottom, "Settings"

In the "Settings" menu, we need to tap "Chats and calls"

We scroll down to "Low data usage" at the bottom

There is "Lower the amount of data used during a WhatsApp call" under it.

If we want to turn the "Low data usage" option on, then we tap the box
.
We can do this if we are worried about how many data our phone is using. We will try to use as fewer data as possible. Tapping the box will put a check inside of it and turn it turquoise, meaning that the option next to it is activated.

However, if we are not concerned about datum usage, and it's not a problem for us, then we can turn this option off by tapping the box

The box will be empty. The option will be deactivated.
