Hello! Welcome to VisiHow! In this video, we are going to show how to use hashtags in Tweet messages in Twitter on the HTC One M8.
To begin, let's turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone. Once the phone has been activated, we will see the lock screen.
To unlock the phone, we swipe the screen upwards. Once the phone is unlocked, we will see the home screen, and there will be icons at the bottom of the screen. We need to access one of these icons now, as we need to open up the applications folder.
We need to tap the Apps icon in the middle. The icon is located at the bottom of the home screen. The icon has a grid made of white dots. Tapping this icon will open up our applications folder.
In the applications folder, we need to find and tap the Twitter application icon. The icon has a blue background with a white bird on top of it with "Twitter" written underneath. The application may be in a different position in the application folder. Therefore, we need to find and tap it. Tapping the icon will open up the application. What we want to do in this tutorial is to show how to use hashtags in Tweet messages.
To begin, we need to tap the icon in the bottom-left corner of the screen. The icon looks like a quill or a type of a pen, and it is surrounded by the outlines of a box. Tapping this icon will allow us to send a Tweet message.
What we need to do then is to use hashtags. Twitter is famous for them. Using a hashtag is going to group our Tweet message with all of the other Tweet messages that use that hashtag. So, for example if we use "#London", Twitter is going to send the Tweet message to the "#London" group or area. Anyone who searches for the hashtag "London" will be able to see that Tweet message. The Tweet messages are grouped in one specific place according to their hashtag.
For example, we can use multiple hashtags in one individual Tweet message as well. We can type "Lovely sunset", for example.
Then, we are going to put a hash. We tap the button on the virtual keyboard that brings up symbols.
Then, we are going to type in a word. It needs to be all one word. We do not need to put a space. We put a word next to the hash. We type "London".
Twitter is actually going to bring up the list of different hashtags that we might want to use. We are happy with "London", so we actually can tap "London" on the screen. It will make our word an actual hashtag. Our Tweet message is going to be sent to the group marked by the hashtag.
We can use multiple hashtags. For example, we can add more and type "#sunset".
We tap off the words if we do not want to select one of the options that are suggested for us. We just tap anywhere on the screen, and Twitter will cancel suggestions and take us back to the typing section. So we'll get "Lovely sunset #london #sunset". This Tweet message, when sent, will be linked to these two specific hashtags.
If we want to send the Tweet message now, we are going to tap the "Tweet" button. The button is located in the blue box. We will send the Tweet message.
Now, we actually will be able to see our own Tweet message. We can scroll up or down and see it. In this video, it is "Lovely sunset #london #sunset".
We tap our Tweet message. We'll see our two hashtags highlighted in blue, which means that we can access or enter them by tapping them.
So, for example, if we tap "#london", we'll go to the "#london" area. Now, all of the Tweet messages will have the hashtag "London" in them.
This concludes our tutorial on how to use hashtags in Tweet messages in Twitter on the HTC One M8. If you have any questions or comments regarding this video or about the process in this video, then please leave them in the comment section below. We shall answer them for you.
