Use Gestures to Navigate Google Maps on iPhone 6
Edited by Freya, Crystal, Eng
Hi, you're watching VisiHow. Today I'm going to show you which gestures you should use on the Google Maps application while using an iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, press the home button on the bottom of the phone, or the power button on the right side of the phone
.
This will bring you to the lock screen.
2
Slide your finger to the right to unlock the phone
.
Enter your passcode, or press your finger onto the home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, if you have that option enabled. This will bring you to the home screen.
3
Find and tap on the Google Maps application
.
The icon is very colorful with the Google "g". I keep my applications in folders, so the Google Maps application is in my "Travel" folder. The application will automatically open to the place that you last searched for, or your current location.
4
To look around the map, press and hold your finger down and drag it around
.
5
To zoom in, pinch your fingers in and out
.
As your fingers get further apart, it will zoom in. As your fingers get closer, it will zoom out.
6
To twist the map, hold one finger on the map and use another finger to move the map around
.
7
Press the red and gray compass in the top right corner to have the map face north again
.
8
As you zoom out, you lose some details about the streets, but the key locations are still on the map
.
9
This was a tutorial on how to use gestures while navigating the Google Maps application on the iPhone 6
.
If you have any questions or comments, please leave them in the section below. Thank you for watching VisiHow.
