Use Find My iPhone

You're watching VisiHow. In this video, we're going to show how to find a lost or stolen iPhone. For that, you have to use iCloud.


Steps

    First, navigate to https://www.icloud.com.

    Enter your Apple ID and password.

    Once you have signed in, click on "Find My iPhone".

    Click "All Devices" above the map. This will open a drop-down list of all of the Apple devices you have that are logged in.

    In this tutorial, "Michael's iPhone" is clicked to find the iPhone.

    You can click "Play Sound" to have the phone play a sound. The sound will play until you unlock your device. There are also a couple of other options.

    You can click "Lost Mode". When you select "Lost Mode", you will be asked to enter a telephone number other than the number with the lost iPhone so that people can reach you.

    Simply type the number into the text box.

    Click "Next" in the upper-right corner of the pop-up box.

    You can also display a message on your iPhone by typing it.

    Then, click "Done". Now, when the iPhone is turned on, it will show the message.

    The person who finds the phone will be able to tap on "Call".

    Alternatively, swipe right and enter your passcode to use the iPhone again.

    You can click the last option, "Erase Phone". This will erase all of the data on the iPhone, and it will not allow you to track the phone anymore. A pop-up box appears that reads "All your content and settings will be erased. An erased iPhone cannot be located or tracked". Erasing the phone is a last resort if you want to protect sensitive information on the phone and do not have a good chance of getting the iPhone back.
