Use Facebook to Sign up for SoundCloud on iPhone 6
Edited by Grimm, Rushell, Eng, alexdav and 2 others
You're watching VisiHow. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to use Facebook to sign up for SoundCloud on the iPhone 6.
Steps
1
To begin, give a single press to the Home button of the iPhone 6
.
2
Then swipe across the screen to enter the pin or passcode area
.
3
Now, either enter a passcode or press and hold your thumb or fingerprint on the Home button to use the touch ID sensor
.
4
This will take us to the Home screen, where in this demonstration we currently have the SoundCloud icon
.
This icon has an orange background with a cloud on it. The left side of the cloud is a series of music equalizer indicators up and down, for the music to show how high or low the notes are. The right side is the other part of the cloud, which also makes a heart shape.
5
We love music, and we love SoundCloud, so let's give the SoundCloud icon a tap
.
6
One tap will open SoundCloud, and the first thing we will see is the Home page
.
7
The icons at the bottom include a search option in the middle, and at the far right, a profile head
.
That is what we want, the profile head.
8
One press on this icon will give us the option to create an account or sign in
.
9
To sign into an existing account, simply tap "Sign-in"
.
10
Options to sign in with Facebook, Google, or an email address will appear
.
11
Let's press "Cancel" at the top left corner because we are creating an account, not signing into one
.
12
Now, tap on "Create account", and it will bring up the same screen as before when we tapped on "Sign-in"
.
However, this time it says "Create account" at the top. We are now creating an account rather than trying to sign in with one.
13
We are going to use Facebook, so let's tap on "Sign up with Facebook"
.
This is going to open Facebook.
14
However, before it opens Facebook we have to agree to the SoundCloud "Terms of Use", "Cookie Policy", and "Privacy Policy"
.
Like the majority of people, I don't normally read these. They all say more or less the same thing. If we don't accept it, which means pressing "Cancel", we can't use the application.
15
Therefore, let's press "Continue" because we want to use SoundCloud
.
16
Facebook will now open, and we will receive a notification that says, "SoundCloud will receive the following info
:
your public profile, friend list, email address and birthday".
17
We can "Edit the info" we provide by pressing on that link in blue
.
18
It also tells us that "This does not let the app post to Facebook"
19
If we tap on "Edit the info you provide", we'll be given a list of things that can be changed
.
20
This allows the "Friends list" to be changed, the "Email address" to be changed, and the "Birthday" to be changed
.
21
However, it does not allow us to change our "Public profile" information
.
22
We're not going to change anything in this demonstration, so let's just tap on "OK" at the bottom right
.
23
Now, we will be taken to SoundCloud with our newly created account
.
We now have a "Collection". Our Collection allows us to add music and update additional information. This will be the first thing we'll see after we sign in, but we don't need that.
24
We need to press on the profile option at the bottom right corner
.
Pressing on this icon will not do anything because we are already signed in.
25
Instead, we are going to tap on the three dots, or the ellipsis, at the top right corner of the screen, which is the menu option
.
26
On the next screen, we will see, "Your Profile", "Tell a Friend", and "Sign out"
.
27
Let's tap on "Your Profile" at the top
.
28
This will take us to our "Profile" page, and the interesting thing we'll notice is there's nothing we can really change currently
.
29
Since there are no options to change on the current page, we need to go back by pressing the arrow at the top left corner
.
30
There's still no other option to change profile stuff, so tap the arrow at the top left to go back another screen
.
31
Now, we are back on the "Collection" screen
.
The reason our profile can't be changed is that SoundCloud pulls that information from Facebook. All of that information is tied in there, and if we want to change that, then we change it in Facebook. At that point, SoundCloud updates itself.
32
Now that we have signed in, SoundCloud is going to be rather empty, so let's tap back on the Home button, which is the house icon at the bottom left of the screen
.
As you might recall from the beginning of this tutorial, there was a bunch of music and stuff there.
33
However, if we tap on that Home button now, there is nothing in our "Stream"
.
We've personalized it, and we've added ourselves, but we haven't told SoundCloud anything about us. For that, we need to move on to our next tutorial where we discuss how to personalize and set up SoundCloud streams, so you can hear the latest music that you would like to have.
34
This concludes our tutorial on using Facebook to sign up for SoundCloud and sign in
.
Thanks for using VisiHow and have a great day. If you have comments, questions or suggestions, put them in the section below. Thanks, bye.
