Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to use Facebook to find nearby places of interest on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   .

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   .

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Facebook application

   .

   There is a Facebook icon, which is a blue background with a white "f" inside, and underneath it says the word "Facebook". Facebook can be used to find nearby places of interest, and that can be very useful for us, especially if we're in an area that we don't know so well and we want to find a place to eat, a cinema, nightclub, library, sport venue, or even the police.

   We now need to tap the menu icon in the top right-hand corner

   There are three gray horizontal lines.

   Tap on "Nearby Places", which has a pink circle with a map pin inside

   This will open up the map where it will find our location and show nearby places.

   We can use our finger to scroll around and have a look, and we can press down on any place of interest

   If we press down on the name again, we will see even more information about it such as contact information and other things that they've posted on their Facebook page

    Another thing we can do is press down on "Nearby Places" in the search bar at the top and we will be given a choice of categories

    Categories include "Nearby", "Restaurants", "Coffee", "Nightlife", and "Outdoors".

    We can also type in something if we want to search for something more specific

    We're going to tap on "Shopping" to search for places to shop.
