Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on and off the option for the HTC One M8 to light up when receiving notifications from Facebook.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Facebook application

   There is a Facebook icon, which is a blue background with a white "f" inside, and underneath it says the word "Facebook". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder.

   We now need to tap on the menu icon in the top right-hand corner to find the app settings menu

   There are three gray horizontal lines. They're very faint, but we can see them.

   Scroll up or down to find "App Settings", and tap on it

   There will be a gray circle with a white gear inside. This will open up the app settings menu.

   Tap on the first option, "Notifications"

   We want the second option, "Phone LED"

   This option is currently activated, indicated by the blue switch on the right-hand side. When we receive notifications from Facebook, our phone is going to light up. If we don't want that to happen, then we can turn the option off by pressing down on the switch on the right-hand side. The icon will be white, indicating that it is deactivated and the phone will not light up when we receive notifications from Facebook.
