Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on and off the option to receive notifications from Twitter about favorites on an HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   .

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Twitter application

   .

   There is a Twitter icon, which is a blue background with a white bird on tap, and underneath it says the word "Twitter". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder. Now we need to find the settings menu.

   To do that, tap on the 3 vertical dots in the top right-hand corner of the screen

   This will open a menu.

   We want the option at the bottom, "Settings"

   Tap on the second option, which is the registered username for this application

   In this case, it says "visihowl".

   We want to tap the first option at the top which says "Mobile notifications"

   Scroll down and tap the "Favorites" option

   .

   Underneath it says, "Tailored for you", which is the option currently selected. Pressing this section will show us 3 options.

    Tap on the chosen option

    We can choose to see notifications tailored for us, which is the selected option, indicated by the blue circle on the left-hand side. We can also receive notifications about favorites from anyone, or turn the option off completely so we don't receive notifications about any favorites. We'll turn the option off by tapping "Off". It will then say "Off" under "Favourites" and the check box will be empty. We will not receive notifications from any of our favorite people or tweets.
