Hello and welcome to VisiHow. This is a tutorial on how to turn on and off the option to open links externally in Facebook on your HTC One M8.

   To begin, turn the phone on by pressing the power button located on top of the phone

   .

   Once the phone has been activated we will see the lock screen.

   To unlock the phone, swipe the screen up

   Once the phone has been unlocked we will see the home screen, and at the bottom we will see 5 icons. We now need to open the application folder.

   We can do that by tapping the icon in the middle, at the bottom of the screen

   There is a grid of white dots. This is the icon for the applications folder.

   Now that the folder has been opened, we need to find and tap the Facebook application

   .

   There is a Facebook icon, which is a blue background with a white "f" inside, and underneath it says the word "Facebook". Your application may be in a different location, so look for the icon in your folder.

   We now need to tap on the menu icon in the top right-hand corner to find the app settings menu

   There are three gray horizontal lines. They're very faint, but we can see them.

   Scroll up or down to find "App Settings", and tap on it

   There will be a gray circle with a white gear inside. This will open up the app settings menu.

   Find the "Links open externally" option

   .

   This option is currently deactivated, indicated by the white switch on the right-hand side. What this means is that if there is a link in Facebook and we press down on it, it will open the link inside of Facebook. If we prefer to have the link open externally, then we can turn the option on by pressing down on the switch on the right-hand side. The icon will be blue, indicating that it is activated.

   If we're fine with links being opened in Facebook when we press down on them, we can turn the option off by tapping on the switch until it white

   This indicates that this option is deactivated.
